Hampshire ALC’s Council of the Year Award 2024
Hampshire Association of Local Council invites nominations for the Council of the Year Award 2024*
An award will be made to a Hampshire Council that has shown innovation, good practice and/or excellent use of resources in improving an outcome for its residents. Any piece of work, by any size council can be submitted and will be considered proportionately.
Submissions can be made by sending a narrative in writing, outlining the reasons for nomination to the Chief Executive by email to comms@hampshirealc.org.ukno later than 5.00pm, Friday 13th September 2024
Please mark the email subject line ‘Confidential – Council of the Year Award entry’
Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
The winner will be announced at HALC’s AGM 19th October 2024
*This Award has no correlation to the Hampshire and IOW Village of the Year Competition
Hampshire ALC’s Clerk of the Year Award 2024
Hampshire Association of Local Council invites nominees for the Clerk of the Year Award 2024
The competition is open to all clerks in Hampshire.
Nominations can be made by chairmen, councillors, parishioners or fellow clerks. It is only the clerk themselves that can’t make a nomination!
This is your opportunity to publicly recognise everything your clerk does for your community.
To make a nomination: tell us, in a maximum of 500 words, why your clerk is exceptional, what achievements they have made during the past year, how they manage priorities, handle projects, encourage others or simply make a difference where others cannot.
Send your entries no later than 5.00pm on Friday 13th September 2024 to the Chief Executive by email to comms@hampshirealc.org.uk

The Categories are:
e-mango Shield for Best Local Council website
This annual challenge shield will be awarded at the AGM to the council, whom in the opinion of the judges, submit the best active website for judging.
To enter, submit your website URL and council name, no later than 5.00pm on Friday 13th September 2024 to comms@hampshirealc.org.uk

Best Local Council newsletter
This annual challenge shield will be awarded at the AGM to the Council, whom in the opinion of the judges, submit the best newsletter issued during 2023.
To enter, submit a copy of your (published in 2023) newsletter, no later than 5.00pm on Friday 13th September 2024, to comms@hampshirealc.org.uk
Please title your email, in the subject line, ‘Confidential - Best Local Council Newsletter’
Best use of social media in Public Engagement
An award given to the best submission showing the use of social media by a council in communicating and engaging with its residents.
Submissions should be forwarded in writing, no later than 5.00pm on Friday 13th September 2024 to comms@hampshriealc.org.uk
