Local councils
Parish and town councils (local councils) are the first tier of local government, and their members (councillors) are elected to represent their local communities and be the voice for local interests and views.
Along with the handful of duties councils are required to fulfil, they also enjoy a wealth of powers, which they can rely on to improve, support and implement services and the quality of life and wellbeing of their communities.
